April 2, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank all of you so much for working with your student.  It takes a lot of perseverance to be on this everyday.  I appreciate all that you are doing.  This letter is just to check in.  If your student has signed off of their chrome book and needs help getting back on.  Please don’t hesitate to email me.  This is a pretty common problem and it’s not hard to fix.

Thank you to all of the students and parents who have been visiting Class Dojo and checking in.  I love the reading videos you’ve posted.  I love to see the math snapshots.  Also, I love to see the drawings and artwork.  If you are having trouble getting on to Class Dojo, our class code is RWOZED.  If you need your parent invite, just let me know.   I’ve posted links for science, Scholastic Weekly Reader, and some art projects.  Plus there are some videos for reviewing how to tell time, our daily calendar, and other important stuff like class codes and class passwords.

I am happy to see so many students making good progress with Zearn.  The fact fluency is tough, but keep practicing.   If you have any questions, let me know the lesson you’re on and I will figure out how to help.  Also if you need your login and password – just email me.

I see that many students have been working on the phonics reading packets.  They are like reading a tongue twister, but they’re an important part of the reading process.  The questions in the Reading Comprehension check are not always clear, so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

In the meantime:  Students – you do have 2 Secret Missions today.  Due date is 3:30 on April 6th.

Secret Mission # 1.  Find your best secret agent hat or sunglasses.  Take a picture using Class Dojo and post it to your portfolio.

Secret Mission # 2.  I’ve posted a science website.  This site is probably a little bit higher level (3/4), but it will read a lot of the information for you.

Students your Secret Mission is to visit the site above.  Click on, “Blue Planet”.  Listen to the information.  Then play the game.  (It’s fun to close your eyes when you play this game.)  Report your findings on Class Dojo.  I will make a chart for Monday that includes the findings for everyone that has reported.

Thanks again to everyone.  Stay Safe.

Mrs. deMontigny
